Daily Kitchen Note

A messy pile of container lids can make it frustrating to put away leftovers and clutters your kitchen. Storing lids vertically using a plate rack or tension rods keeps them organized and maximizes your cabinet space.

How to Store lids vertically

  1. Gather all your plastic food storage containers and their matching lids, discarding any mismatched or broken pieces.
  2. Place a bamboo plate rack, tension rods, or a magazine file inside your kitchen cabinet or drawer.
  3. Slide the lids vertically into the slots or sections, organizing them by size or shape for easy access.
  4. Nest the empty container bases inside one another and store them next to the organized lids.

Why it works

Storing lids vertically prevents them from forming an unstable, messy pile that takes up unnecessary horizontal space. By using a rack or divider, each lid is held upright and separated, allowing you to quickly identify and grab the exact size you need without digging through a cluttered drawer.
