Daily Kitchen Note
Fresh herbs can wilt quickly if not stored properly. Placing the stems in a glass of water like a bouquet helps maintain their freshness for longer.

How to Store fresh herbs
- Trim the ends of the fresh herb stems.
- Place the stems in a glass filled with water, like a bouquet of flowers.
- Leave the glass on the counter for herbs like basil, or cover loosely with a plastic bag and refrigerate for others.
Why it works
Treating fresh herbs like cut flowers by placing their stems in water allows them to continue drawing up moisture. This prevents the leaves from wilting and drying out, extending their usable life.
